Dark Self
2016

Dark Self refers to an imaginary house, a blurred ghostly presence. It consists of a video projection and paintings on transpar- ent materials.

The video projection, with minimal dislocation, is positioned at an angle to construct the facade of a house featuring an ar- chetypal roof. This subtle shift transforms the projection screen into a home made of light. The morphological suggestions of openings—a door and a window—are outlined by tarnishing the transparent surfaces with meditative, mournful painting, all within a constantly moving and shifting frame.
